about corbin tomaszeski
When you ask the most talented people in their fields how they came to do what they do, many will respond they were simply "born to do it." Chef Corbin Tomaszeski is no different. Corbin's passion for food and family runs deep and he comes by it honestly. Raised on a farm outside of Edmonton, one of his earliest memories is the smell of baking bread in his grandmother's kitchen. As part of a large Polish family where food was the focal point of family gatherings, Corbin learned early on that he had to roll up his sleeves and get to work in the kitchen. And it's there where his culinary creativity was sparked.
Corbin doesn't just see food as a way to fuel our bodies, he sees food as a universal language with the power to bring people together and to connect us all. And it's Corbin's ability to convey the power of food as well as his dynamic, engaging personality and the inherent capacity to talk to just about anybody that has propelled him to star in such Food Network shows as Restaurant Takeover, Dinner Party Wars, and most recently, The Incredible Food Race. These projects have increased Corbin's profile which he's used to lend his time and expertise to worthy organizations as CANFAR, Canadian Heart and Stroke Association, Plaid for Dad for prostate cancer, and United Way Canada to name a few.
While Corbin, his wife, and their three young sons call Toronto home, this executive chef has never forgotten his rural Alberta roots. He's looking forward to sharing recipes inspired by those early days, along with his philosophy of food, fun, and family, with the rest of Canada with the release of his very first cookbook in 2018.
